JEC Awards : Stelia Aerospace et Porcher Industries sont finalistes !31/01/2018

We are delighted to announce that Stelia Aerospace and Porcher Industries have been selected as a JEC Innovation Award finalist for their ARCHES BOX TP research project. Porcher Industries is one of they key partners along with Sintex NP, COMPOSE TOOL, CETIM, AVIACOMP SA and Institut de Soudure.

Continuing to push back the boundaries within the realms of aerospace processing techniques, STELIA Aerospace developed a full-scale thermoplastic fuselage demonstrator to evaluate the use of high performance thermoplastics within a next generation single aisle aircraft.  The demonstrator featured all the typical characteristics of a primary fuselage airframe, those being thin skin, lightning protection, stringers and frames, to allow a detailed evaluation of these technologies in a true industrial environment.

The results of extensive R&D by both Porcher Industries and STELIA, the strengthening frames for the aircraft fuselage are the first to use a more cost effective 12K woven carbon/PEKK laminate as opposed to 3K woven carbon/PEKK. Through low-crimp weaving and optimization of the fibre/matrix interface, Porcher Industries demonstrated that the 12K carbon/PEKK laminates exhibit the same performance level of the more traditional 3K carbon/PEKK laminates.

Porcher Industries à l'ISPO Munich !22/01/2018

Meet Porcher Sports on Booth A4 529-3 at ISPO 2018, Munich. 28 - 31st January 2018 !

Porcher Sports, an innovator of lighter, safer and more durable reinforcements for sporting equipment, will showcase its GREENLITE® range of fabrics at ISPO 2018.  Previously recognized with the renowned JEC Composites Innovation Award, GREENLITE® fabrics use low density cellulose fibres to produce a range of reinforcements that are biodegradable, highly compatible with bio-resins and suitable for large volume manufacturing of bio-based composite sporting goods such as ski’s, snowboards, rackets and bike frames.  As well as their contribution to sustainability, GREENLITE® composites exhibit exceptional vibration dampening characteristics, improving comfort and reducing fatigue in all performance sport applications.

In addition, Porcher Sports will also showcase its newly developed range of ultra lightweight fabrics for Avalanche bags. Weighing just under 150g, the lightweight polyamide fabric with a PU coating inflates rapidly and consistently and is very strong and long-lasting, minimising the risk of any small tears or punctures during collision.

Enata Kites utilise la gamme Skytex de Porcher Sport !18/01/2018

We are very excited to confirm that Enata Kites is using Porcher Sport’s Skytex range for its competition Kite Pro Series Xa/R 2018.

Dubbed as a kite for the racing addict, the Xa/R 2018 is Enata’s extreme high aspect ratio kite that has been designed with one goal - to provide the best performance for racers. The Xa/R 2018 is the most aerodynamically efficient kite with the highest lift to drag ratio and it will be powered by Porcher Sport’s Skytex 32gm and Skytex 38 gm - two of Porcher’s most popular fabrics, known for their performance enhancing attributes.

The ENATA R&D department has tested several materials for the Xa/R kites. Using Porcher Sport’s highly durable 38gm for the top layer and its lightweight 32gm for the bottom surface, it has been found to provide the best performance, especially at higher wind speeds. The fabric also has a very low water uptake, giving a huge advantage when the wing is in the water.

The Xa/R 2018 has already been tested in competition conditions and we are pleased to congratulate Enata on its amazing performance. Having won 1st place in Abu Dhabi, Mexico, Korea, China and Istanbul, Enata Kites finished the year with a well earned second place at the IKA World Championships in Oman.

Without a doubt, the Xa/R 2018 will own the podiums in 2018!
